A:TLA WarofSpirits by ~AlastorPhoenix:iconAlastorPhoenix:

Water. Earth. Fire. Air. Only the Avatar was the master of all four elements; only he could stop the ruthless Fire Nation from conquering the world. Frozen in time the Avatar awoke a hundred years from his own world. Found by his new friends the Avatar sets off to save the world from the Fire Nation before their inferno engulfs the world.

Although now another war is breaking out. Not in the world of the Avatar, rather in the world of spirits. Two great spirits rage against each other. Houmaru a spirit of War, although his enjoyment for battle he follows a strict code of honor similar to samurai. The other spirit is an enigma only known as The Goddess. There wars wage siege over the spirit realm, spilling into the physical. Now Aang must face a challenge he's never face before. He must stop this war before the world is destroyed

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Laying in the temple Aang stared out at the cliffs of the Western Air Temple. His mind over viewed the many challenges he had to face in the past months. It all seemed like a blur. Although one thing he kept with him was his feelings for his friends though most of all for a certain girl. His mind leaped to the thoughts of Katara, the girl he fell in love with from day one.

His thoughts were broken when a soft whisper echoed in his ear. Rubbing it he looked irritably around. "Hm...must be the bugs.." He mumbles as he turns back to his thoughts only this time it returned. "....Avatar" The word was spoken more clearly as the monk looked around. "Whos there?" He asks slightly alarmed, then something in front of him a distortion in the air.

Garbed in simple Earth Nation Style clothing although outdated for two hundred years a young man stepped down as if walking on the stares. "Lord Avatar I have traveled far and I request for your aid." His long black hair tied in a simple braid hung on his shoulder. "My name is Sho, a simple soldier from the vast armies of Houmaru." Aang didn't pick up the name but something about it disturbed him spiritually. Clasping the blade at his side the spirit kneeled onto one knee and bowing. "A war has broke out between my lord and his adversary the goddess, though I sort of...came here to beg your help to stop this...thousands of souls are being destroyed and with this it is affecting the physical world..please I once lived on this world and I do not wish to see it destroyed." The spirit soldier's eyes dripped transperant tears. Aang stood up. "I don't know much about this but as the Avatar I will do my best to stop it...although how do I get there..." His connection to the spirit world as well to his other avatars were disrupted. Sho gave a slight nod as he pulled out a talisman from under his garbs. "This will allow you to follow me, thank you lord Avatar." He says as he hands the talisman over it became physical to the touch. Slipping it over his neck Aang felt his spirit pull from his body almost instantly. As he turned back he saw his body glow once more standing in a trance. "We must hurry before it's too late.." Aang nods curtly as he takes the soldier's hand and they were transported into the spirit realm.

In a dark room, a throne is seen overlooking a large glass orb. "It seems that wretched boy has contacted the Avatar...hm..." A woman's pale hand pressed upon the orb, swirling energies as the scene shifts. "No matter..I will send a few of my pets to get rid of those..pests." An almost siren like laugh echoes throughout the dark room. Demonic like beings are scene being pulled into the darkness towards the avatar.

The spirit realm took the apperance of a vast forestry as Aang and Sho were walking. "So..Sho my name is Aang if you haven't already guessed." He says as Sho gave a curt nod. "Yes Lord Avatar I knew your past incarnation Avatar Roku, he...saved and changed my life...allowed me to show my skills although I was not a bender so my skills with the sword became invaluable..although I was killed by one of the Pirate Lords when I had to defend the ship...my only regret was I failed the girl I loved..though she lived on and had her own family." His voice held pangs of sadness and guilt. Aang rested his hand on his shoulder. "I'm...sorry." He says as Sho merely gave a small smile. "Though in death I found new life..I work under the Great War Spirit Houmaru...he is an inspiration he taught me to harness the natural spirit powers and become a good soldier..Lord Houmaru is a honorable man who never fights those weaker than him and he is generous.." He says as his hand rested on the hilt of his sword. "Hm...it seems we have company." He says as then from the ground arose a giant scorpian and above a man like bird chuckled his high shrill voice sliced through the air. "Our misstress wishes you not to reach the War God so it shall be, and we shall gain fame for destroying the Avatar hehehehehahahahah!" The bird man laughed as Sho looked overtowards Aang

"I got it!" The last airbender says as his staff generates in his hand, a nice trick he had learned from his last visit. Swinging it the air blasted towards the bird and Scorpion. The large scorpion remained in place although the bird man was sent flying back. Taking action as well Sho moved towards the Scorpion unsheathing his blade. "Dance of Thousand Blades." Rapidly he shot the blade forward piercing through the scorpian's armor and destroying it. The bird man watched in awe. "You...you shall pay for this!" It screamed flying off. Aang crossed his arms as he looked at Sho. "You gotta teach me that!" He says with a laugh as Sho smirked. "Well this is a best place for any to set up camp for the night." Sho says walking into the forest as he leaned against one of the tree. Aang followed as he sighed. "So who is this Goddess?" Aang asks looking at Sho. "She is a mystery...it is said she is one of the four queens sealed away long ago by the first Avatar..she was the leader and sought to overtake both the spirit world and the human world..Lord Houmaru was only a young spirit during that time but he gained power over the years, it is said only the Creator is above him in strength..though the Goddess is a master of the dark arts." He says as he closes his eyes on the tree. "We'll head out in the morning. Aang nodded as he smirked. "How can you even tell it always dusk." He says with laugh
